Well, I’m lucky!!! My boyfriend decided to take me on a family trip to Tunisia…an all inclusive!
and now I’m home, a bit more tanned, a bit more relaxed and missing the warm weather…
We started 1st Nov at 0600 at his parents house and had a good standard breakfast. After a brawl at the gas station with an angry and ”I-don’t-have-any-sex-at-home-so-I-have-a-stick-up-my-ass”-man about who was first in cue to the gas pump (we only have one of diesel-kind at every station so no one could go to another pump) we made our way to the airport. the flight was good, food was not but what did we expect? surely not culinary dinner lol. anyways, when we landed in Tunisia it was awesome! Warm fuzzy weather, fuzzy in this case is a bit cloudy =). We enjoyed (NOT) a 1.5h buss trip to our hotel and when we arrived dinnertime was over so after breakfast at 0600, a sad lunch at 30000 feet up at 1100 we ended up at the hotel very hungry and dinner was not until 1900h…=/ but it was worth waiting for! A buffet with lots and lots of food =) I think we all had that primitive thought that first day. After that dinner we didn’t do much…all of us needed sleep.

The first 3 days was warm but cloudy so we had much time exploring the roundabouts of Hammamet where we were. We visited the ”Medina” and I bought a small djembe drum for 120 SEK. Little did I know that my boyfriends sister would find same drums closer to the hotel in a smaller store for half that price. but I had fun when haggling =)

Frigua Park – should be the animal paradise according to the word we heard but when we arrived and saw the condition we knew that Sweden have a better standard for taking care of animals…but, lions and tigers all honored, we rode dromedaries!!!! The funniest part was watching the others get on the big lumpy animals and when it was our turn, me and my boyfriend, we laughed hardest of all =). My bf weights a little over 100 kg and when he sat on the dromedary it stood up fast as a flying arrow and protested highly! so I had to jump up with a little help from the carer. the rest of the tour was flawless except for the giraffes who were inside and not allowed to go out. Poor calves…

The last 2 days were wonderful. The sun smiled at us and my boyfriends sisters husband,my boyfriends brother and their children took a boat trip in a catamaran, we enjoyed the sun a bit more and got a bit tanned after all. We came home yesterday morning and now I’m freezing my pants off =(

PS. Dan Browns ”Digital fortress” is a good book =)
